We somehow missed this when it was posted on Oregon Film last month (must have been the snow!), but we helped cast talent for this children’s website.

PORTLAND, Ore.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– The creators of, a technologically-innovative children’s entertainment website celebrating books and reading, announced today that they selected Oregon-based talent to build the majority of their new site. stars actress Kathy Kinney, who played Mimi on the hit sitcom “The Drew Carey Show,” and is created by Kinney, Clay Graham, a Hollywood writer and producer, and Dana Plautz, a former executive at Hanna-Barbera. Both Graham and Plautz currently reside in Portland and felt it was important to tap into local talent to help come to life.

“Oregon proved the perfect place to find the talent necessary to help create the innovative website,” said Plautz. “This community has done so much for me and my family, and I feel it’s important to give back and invest in it.”


Graham and Plautz contacted local casting director Lana Veenker, who helped cast Portland-based actors Robert Blanche and Adrienne Vogel. Barry Hunt, who runs a children’s theater program, helped them find many of the younger performers who visit Mrs. P from her garden and share stories about their lives.
